Founder, Brideun Learning Communities Miriam Darnell has taught twice exceptional students for 22 years at schools and institutions including The Logan School, The Rocky Mountain School for Gifted and Creative, The Gifted Development Center, The Center for Education Enrichment, the Brideun School, and Eureka - A Brideun Learning Community. She is a mother of two twice-exceptional children and has a divergent learning style herself, so her life mission is to create an adventure-based curriculum for unique thinkers who struggle with traditional education the way she did as a child. Miriam is also the founder of Druidawn Creations, a fantasy publishing company for teens, home of Legends of Druidawn, the popular writing motivation game for reluctant writers. She is thrilled to be the Program Coordinator at Eureka this year and hopes to be a part of this cutting edge education revolution for many years to come. websites: An example of learning-through-play, the world of Druidawn is a community where young fantasy/sci-fi authors can submit, read, and comment on stories about the multi-layered Druidawn universe. This imagination-extreme includes a series of Ebooks (Druidawn Volume I and II), Legends of Druidawn, a writing motivation role-playing game local and online, creative writing clubs, writing mentorships, publishing opportunities for young authors and artists, and an exciting, interactive website where creative students can interact, play games, and get feedback on their work.
