Seminar courses are specifically designed to meet the
needs of under-challenged and inconsistent learners by offering specific
training in a particular area of interest or disability.
Seminars nurture passions, expand on theme learning
objectives, support diverse learning styles and focus on specific skills
that need attention. In some cases, these electives are "purchased"
with Brideun Bucks earned for positive behavior or accomplishment, and
in that way, students can "hire" instructors for classes in
which they have a particular interest or need.
Below are titles of some of the seminars that have
been offered in the Brideun curriculum over the past few years.

The
biggest challenge with the Brideun seminars for students is choosing which
ones to request. Luckily, children and teachers have the opportunity to
decide on new interest-based seminars every 3-5 weeks.
Each Brideun Learning Community's special education team has the
training and experience to help all students achieve their full potential.
Speech and language, listening, occupational therapy, developmental vision,
social skills, mental health, nutrition, and remedial academic instruction
in reading, writing and math are part of each student's school day. Furthermore,
a full-time social worker, a daily referral behavior class and a supportive
study hall are available to students who need additional assistance.
